World Series of Handicapping
By WSOH Reporter: JT Sneaks
The National Football League has kicked off the start of the 2014 season and that can only mean one thing. It is once again time for hundreds of handicappers to vie for one of the most coveted titles in the handicapping industry. The World Series of Handicapping also begins in conjunction with the first week of the NFL week one of the regular season. With hundreds of the handicappers ready to make a run for the ring, let’s take a look at this very popular online contest.
This contest is the only real online test of skill for sports handicappers that believe that they can successfully select NFL winners on a weekly basis. This is this the third year of the World Series of Handicapping (WSOH) and the reason that its popularity is increasing on an annual basis is because it allows anyone to join and prove that they are one of the best in the world. The first place prize is a Baron made championship ring that will be the envy of all the other contestants. This stunningly beautiful award is more than a trophy for winning a contest; it’s a symbol of your ability to be the best in the world when it comes to correctly predicting the outcome of football games. Up to now only two other people can say that they are proud owners of this proud symbol. Will you be next?
Unlike other NFL handicapping contests, this contest is free to offer and held online. This contest is also more challenging as the contestants have to pick seven games each week. The contestant has the option to choose from any game and they can use sides or totals. This makes it even more incredibly difficult to win and it requires a unique skill to be successful for an entire year.
The competition will be fierce, just ask Petro Giannakopoulos. Petro won this contest in the inaugural year by amassing a record of 70-45-4 record for +99.10 units. This is an outstanding record that will most likely never be duplicated. In year two it was John Ulman AKA the NFL King, who finished the contest with a 61-51-7 record for +41.60 units. Both champions had great seasons and were very deserving of the ring.
In week one, the defending champion, NFL King choose the following:
- the Saints -3.0 as his 7 unit play,
- Bears -6.5 (6),
- under 46.5 Mia/NE (5)
- Steelers -6.5 (4)
- Over 50.5 SF/Dal (3)
- under 43.5 Bal/Cin (2)
- Titans +4.0 (1).
In year three the contest is loaded again with talented football pickers that are eager to claim the ring and the prestigious title of the best NFL handicapper. Every week we will look at the leader board and the most popular picks as we track the WSOH-3. The season starts now, so stake your claim to the ring and put your picks in for week one in the NFL. May the best football handicapper win!
