The NFL season is past the midway point and teams are hoping to make a strong run to the end of the season with hopes of obtaining a Super Bowl title. The same thing can be said for the World Series of Handicapping. This great football picking contest is loaded with talented handicappers all hoping to make a strong push in the second half to claim the ring and win it all!

The World Series of Handicapping, if you don’t know, is one of the premier football handicapping contests in the world. Also known as the WSOH, this intriguing contest has assembled some of the best football picking talent in the world. The top of the leaderboard is littered with champions who know how to pick winners and they know how to win championships. Winning this contest is a test of attrition as the winner will have to pick seven games on a weekly basis with hopes of climbing up the standings. The last man standing is not only crowned the WSOH champ, but they also get to proudly wear the WSOH ring which is one of the most coveted and well respected trophies among football handicappers.

Here is a quick look at the leaderboard as we look ahead to kickoff for week 9 in the National Football League. We have a new leader at the top as Petro has lone ownership of first place. If the name sounds familiar it should because he is a defending champion of this difficult contest. Petro has an unbelievable record of 40-15-1 on the season. He has amassed 96.10 units and is in control of the top spot with a 20 point lead over the closest contender.

Natejacobson had owned the top spot for several weeks but is now in second place. He has a 36-19-1 record and has recorded 70 units on the season. The season is far from over and he is serious about getting back to the top spot.

His selections for week 9 are:

7 Units: Baltimore Ravens

6 Units: Minnesota Vikings

5 Units: New England Patriots

4 Units: New York Jets

3 Units: Arizona Cardinals

2 Units: 49ers/ Rams under

1 Unit: San Francisco 49ers

The WSOH consensus shows that this week’s card must have been very difficult for the contestants to pick. There is only one true pick that got the most attention. The Indianapolis Colts are on the road against the New York Giants on Monday Night Football and nine current contestants made the Colts their top pick of the week!

The savvy veteran is at the top of the leaderboard and the rest of the field is scrambling to catch him for the right to be called the WSOH champions!
